1.67

黃龍曰。古之天地日月。猶今之天地日月。古之萬物性情。猶今之萬物性情。天地日月固無易也。萬物性情固無變也。道胡為而獨變乎。嗟其未至者。厭故悅新捨此取彼。猶適越者不之南而之北。誠可謂異於人矣。然徒勞其心苦其身。其志愈勤其道愈遠矣（遁菴壁記）。

Huanglong said: "The heaven, earth, sun, and moon of antiquity are just like the heaven, earth, sun, and moon of today. The nature and sentiments of the myriad things of antiquity are just like the nature and sentiments of the myriad things of today. Heaven, earth, sun, and moon certainly do not change; the nature and sentiments of the myriad things certainly do not alter. Why, then, should the Way alone change? Alas, those who have not reached it dislike the old and delight in the new, discarding this and choosing that, just like one heading to Yue who does not go south but goes north—such people can truly be called divergent from others! Yet they merely labor their minds and torment their bodies; the more diligent their will, the farther they are from the Way." (Dun'an bi ji)
