Huanglong said to Ying of Shaowu: "Your will must be unified; sustain it long without backsliding, and on a later day you will surely know where the wondrous Way tends. If your mind harbors preferences and aversions, and your emotions indulge in what is perverse and crooked, even if you possess an aspiration equal to the ancients, I fear that in the end you will not be able to see their Way."
