3.15

雪堂生富貴之室。無驕倨之態。處躬節儉雅不事物。住烏巨山。衲子有獻鐵鏡者。雪堂曰。溪流清泚毛𩬊可鑒。蓄此何為。終却之（行實）。

Xuetang was born into a wealthy and noble family, yet he had no haughty manner. He conducted himself with frugality, and had an innate dislike for material possessions. While residing on Mount Wuju, a patch-robed monk presented him with an iron mirror. Xuetang said: 'The stream flows clear and bright, reflecting every strand of hair; why keep this?' In the end, he declined it.
