3.24

死心曰。晦堂先師昔遊東吳。見圓照赴淨慈請。蘇杭道俗爭之不已。一曰。此我師也汝何奪之。一曰。今我師也汝何有焉（一本見林間錄）。

Sixin said: "In the past, my late master Huitang traveled through Eastern Wu and saw Yuanzhao accepting the invitation to Jingci. The monastics and laypeople of Suzhou and Hangzhou contested endlessly over him. One side said, 'He is our master; why are you taking him away?' The other side said, 'He is now our master; what claim do you have on him?'" (One text appears in the Linjian lu)
