Master Zhuo'an Fozhao Guang first studied under Xuetang at Jianfu. A physiognomist saw him once and recognized his capacity, saying to Xuetang: 'Senior Monk Guang in the assembly has a square and upright skull, a broad forehead, full cheeks, and the seven places flat and full. In the future, he will certainly become a teacher of emperors and kings.' In the early Chunxi era of Emperor Xiaozong, he was summoned for an audience and met with royal approval; he was retained in the Inner Contemplation Hall for seven nights, receiving extraordinary treatment exceeding all before him. He was bestowed the name Fozhao, which became renowned throughout the realm." (Record of Heard Matters)
