9.135

○初入廁時先須彈指三下。以警在穢之鬼。亦不可痰吐入廁中。以傷在穢之鬼。此二項陰德具載藏經。茲不繁引。

○ When first entering the privy, one must first snap one's fingers three times to warn the ghosts residing in filth. Nor may one spit phlegm into the privy so as to harm the ghosts residing in filth. These two matters of hidden virtue are fully recorded in the canon; they are not cited in detail here.
