Bowing my head to the perfect, all-pervading awakening,
The tranquil, equal, original true source;
Whose marks and features are adornment and distinction, neither existing nor non-existing;
Whose bright wisdom universally shines upon atom-like lands.
Bowing my head to the clear, true, wondrous awakening:
The profound twelve divisions of sūtras,
Neither texts, nor characters, nor verbal explanations;
One sound is clearly understood according to each category.
Bowing my head to the pure worthy and noble ones:
The harmonious and true-responding saṅgha of the ten directions,
Who uphold the prohibitive precepts without transgression,
Shaking the khakkhara and carrying the flask to benefit conscious beings:
Egg-born, womb-born, moisture-born, and miraculously born,
Form, formless, with perception, and without perception,
Neither with nor without perception, of diverse kinds—
Transmigrating in the six destinies without ceasing.
I now bow my head and take refuge in the Triratna,
Universally generating the mind of the Way on behalf of sentient beings.
Multitudes of beings are sunken in the ocean of suffering;
I vow that through the power of the Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha,
With compassion and skillful means you will uproot all suffering,
Not abandoning the vast vow to ferry across conscious souls,
With ease in transformative power delivering without limit,
So that sentient beings like sands of the Ganges attain correct awakening.
