評曰。毒峯天奇。皆教參究念佛。空谷何故謂。不必用此等法。蓋是隨機不同。任便無礙。
The commentary says: Dufeng and Tianqi both taught investigating buddhānusmṛti. Why did Konggu say that there is no need to use such methods? It is because they adapted to different capacities; follow whatever is convenient without obstruction.
