法師玄燭。戒德定品慧業法門。講唱宗乘當世特立。大順初。傳法帝京。學徒數百左右悅隨。時謂其可繼荊溪。尊稱為十祖云。

Dharma Master Xuanzhu was preeminent in his era for his moral virtue, meditative attainment, wisdom, and Dharma cultivation, as well as his lecturing and singing of the school's teachings. At the beginning of the Dashun era, he transmitted the Dharma in the imperial capital. Hundreds of students joyfully followed him. People of the time said he could succeed Jīngxī, revering him as the Tenth Patriarch.
