法師皓端。嘉禾張氏。聞玄燭時稱十祖。遂往參學。即悟一心三觀之旨。誓心山居二十餘年。身無長衣口無異味。坐唯一榻門不設關。本朝建隆初。無疾坐亡。火浴舍利不知其算。得法者八十人。

Dharma Master Haoduan was of the Zhang clan of Jiahe. Hearing that Xuanzhu was called the Tenth Patriarch at the time, he went to study with him and immediately awakened to the principle of the threefold contemplation in a single mind. Vowing to dwell in the mountains, he lived there for more than twenty years, without extra clothing on his body, without exotic delicacies in his mouth, with only a single couch to sit upon, and with doors left unlocked. At the beginning of the Jianlong era of the present dynasty, he passed away sitting upright without illness. The relics from his cremation were beyond counting. Those who attained the Dharma through him numbered eighty persons.
