法因。住四明廣壽。三十年冥心淨業。偶在疾。集眾諷觀經稱佛號者三夕。謂門人曰。吾將行矣。或請留偈。為之書曰。我與彌陀本無二。二與不二並皆離。我今如此見彌陀。感應道交難思議。挺身端坐結印而逝。

Fayin resided at Guangshou in Siming. For thirty years, he concentrated his mind on pure karma. Falling ill by chance, he gathered the assembly to chant the Contemplation Sūtra and recite the Buddha's name for three nights. He told his disciples: "I am about to depart." Someone requested that he leave a verse, so he wrote for them: "Amitābha and I are fundamentally not two; / Both duality and non-duality are left behind. / As I now behold Amitābha in this way, / The sympathetic resonance and union of the path are difficult to conceive." He straightened his body, sat upright, formed a mudrā, and passed away.
