了然號智涌。住白蓮二十四年。夢兩龍戲空中一化為神人。袖出書曰。師七日當行。既寤集眾說法。大書曰。因念佛力得生樂國。凡汝諸人可不自勉。即沐浴更衣。集眾誦阿彌陀經。至西方世界。倏然而化。能仁行人。皆聞天樂之音。祥光上屬天表。

Liaoran, styled Zhiyong, resided at Bailian for twenty-four years. He dreamed of two dragons disporting in the sky, one of which transformed into a spirit man, who took a document from his sleeve and said: "The Master shall depart in seven days." Upon waking, he gathered the assembly and expounded the Dharma, writing in large letters: "By the power of mindfulness of the Buddha, one attains birth in the Land of Bliss. How can you all not encourage yourselves?" He then bathed, changed his clothes, gathered the assembly to recite the Amitābha Sūtra, and when they reached the Western World, he suddenly passed away. Practitioners at Nengren all heard the sounds of heavenly music, and auspicious light reached up beyond the skies.
