27.133

覃異。居餘姚龍泉。誦法華五千部。普賢行法彌陀經各萬卷。靜室禮佛不舍晝夜。忽微疾。集眾告曰。吾安養有期。即面西累足而逝。

Tanyi resided at Longquan in Yuyao. He recited five thousand sets of the Lotus Sūtra, and ten thousand scrolls each of the Samantabhadra Practice and Amitābha Sūtra. In a quiet room he bowed to the Buddha day and night without abandoning it. Suddenly having a slight illness, he gathered the assembly and told them: "My [rebirth in] Peace and Nurture has its appointed time." Thereupon, facing West, he folded his legs and passed away.
