27.20

曇鑑。宋時居江陵。定中感佛以水灑面。曰滌汝塵垢清汝心念。一夕念佛步廊。及旦趺坐而化。同時江陵道海。淮南曇泓。東轅道廣。弘農道光。臨終皆見金臺來迎之相。

Tanjian: During the Song dynasty, he lived in Jiangling. While in meditative absorption, he experienced the Buddha sprinkling water on his face and saying: "I wash away your defilements and cleanse your thoughts." One night, reciting the Buddha's name while pacing along the corridor, he passed away sitting cross-legged as dawn broke. At the same time, Daohai of Jiangling, Tanhong of Huainan, Daoguang of Dongyuan, and Daoguang of Hongnong all saw signs of a golden lotus pedestal coming to welcome them at the end of their lives.
