慧成。居枝江誦阿彌陀經修西方觀。三十年常坐不臥。每入定見淨土蓮臺寶樹。臨終之夕。人有夢成乘蓮華上隱隱西沒。

Huicheng resided in Zhijiang, reciting the Amitābha Sūtra and cultivating the contemplation of the Western Pure Land. For thirty years, he constantly sat without lying down. Every time he entered meditative concentration, he saw the lotus dais and jeweled trees of the Pure Land. On the night of his death, someone dreamed of Cheng riding upon a lotus flower, faintly disappearing into the west.
