27.66

寶相。居長安六時禮懺者三十年。夜誦彌陀經七過。佛號六萬聲。後忽見佛大士眾自西來迎。囑諸徒曰。念佛為業西方相待。

Baoxiang lived in Chang'an and performed repentance at the six periods of the day for thirty years. At night he recited the Amitābha Sūtra seven times and the Buddha's name sixty thousand times. Later, he suddenly saw the Buddha and the Bodhisattva assembly coming from the west to welcome him. He instructed his disciples, saying, 'Make recitation of the Buddha's name your practice; the Western Land awaits you.'
