27.69

懷感。居長安千福寺念佛三年。見佛金色玉豪。得入三昧。乃製決疑論七卷。臨終見佛來迎。合掌而化。

Huaigan lived at Qianfu Monastery in Chang'an and recited the Buddha's name for three years. He saw the golden body of the Buddha and the jade ūrṇā, and attained entry into samādhi. He then composed the *Treatise Resolving Doubts* in seven fascicles. When his end drew near, he saw the Buddha coming to welcome him, joined his palms, and passed away.
