28.110

常熟陶氏。寡居常持普門品。夢白衣人授以蓮華令食之。又夢梵僧授以彌陀經。覺即能誦不假師授。一夕帳幌光明有彌陀像立經凾上。每誦經時必於卷上迸出舍利。積以成合（已上三人。生前勝相若此。臨終必得往生。殆不能委知耳）。

Lady Tao of Changshu lived as a widow and constantly held the Universal Gateway Chapter. She dreamed of a person in white giving her a lotus flower and instructing her to eat it. She also dreamed of an Indian monk giving her the Amitābha Sūtra, and upon waking, she was able to recite it without needing a teacher's instruction. One evening, light shone from her bed-curtains, and an image of Amitābha stood atop her sūtra-box. Each time she recited the sūtra, relics would unfailingly burst forth upon the scroll, accumulating to fill a small box. (The three people above displayed such auspicious signs during their lifetimes; they must have attained rebirth at the end of their lives, but it is hardly possible to know the details.)
