王衷。居錢唐孤山。即林和靖之故迹。隱居自適。政和間舉隱逸。朝廷旌以處士。後官至朝散大夫。潛心淨業有大感悟。日誦彌陀經七過。佛號萬聲。十九年未嘗間絕。一日無疾。沐浴面西加趺而化。

Wang Zhong lived at Gushan in Qiantang, the former site of Lin Hejing. He lived in seclusion and self-contentment. During the Zhenghe era, he was recommended as a recluse, and the imperial court honored him with the title of Retired Scholar. Later, his official post reached that of Grand Master of Court Splendor. Devoting his mind to pure karma, he had a great awakening. Daily, he recited the Amitābha Sūtra seven times and the Buddha's name ten thousand times, never intermitting for nineteen years. One day, without illness, he bathed, sat cross-legged facing west, and passed away.
