28.33

張迪。居錢唐。官助教。從圓淨律師授菩薩戒。咨問淨業法門。然臂香以為誓。每念佛揚聲勇猛。至失音猶不已。一日謂圓淨曰。弟子近於靜室見白色頻伽飛舞於前。又觀想中見嬰孩綠髮合掌問訊。後三年念佛西望而化。

Zhang Di lived in Qiantang. He held the post of Assistant Instructor. He received the Bodhisattva Precepts from Vinaya Master Yuanjing and consulted him on the Dharma gate of pure karma. He burned incense on his arm to make a vow. Whenever he recited the Buddha's name, he raised his voice with such vigour that even when he lost his voice, he still would not cease. One day he said to Yuanjing: 'Your disciple recently, while in the quiet room, saw a white kalaviṅka flying and dancing in front of me. Moreover, in visualization I saw an infant with green hair joining his palms to pay respects.' Three years later, while reciting the Buddha's name, he gazed to the west and passed away.
