28.86

武林王氏。常誦法華念佛求度。一旦見菩薩大身住立空中。遂連聲稱菩薩高大菩薩高大。又云。恐女人足穢難升花臺。語畢而化。

Lady Wang of Wulin regularly chanted the Lotus Sūtra and recited the Buddha's name, seeking deliverance. One morning she saw the immense body of a bodhisattva standing in the sky. Thereupon, she repeatedly called out, 'The Bodhisattva is tall and vast! The Bodhisattva is tall and vast!' She also said, 'I fear that the defiled feet of a woman may find it difficult to ascend the lotus pedestal.' Having finished speaking, she passed away.
