錢唐陳氏媼。從靈芝受菩薩戒。專心念佛日課千拜。常有舍利散經案上。臨終見化佛來迎。顧旁人語未及半。已凝然不動矣。

Elderly Lady Chen of Qiantang received the bodhisattva precepts from Lingzhi. With focused mind she recited the Buddha's name, maintaining a daily course of a thousand prostrations. Relics would often scatter across her sūtra desk. When her end approached, she saw transformation Buddhas coming to welcome her. Looking toward those beside her, before her words were half spoken, she was already sitting motionlessly and still.
