3.71

籤云。龍宮所藏三本。上本十三世界微塵數品。中本四十九萬八千八百偈。下本十萬偈四十八品。今但三十九品。則知經來未盡（龍樹入龍宮閱經。以上中二本非世所堪。但誦下本流行於世）。

The Qian says: 'There are three recensions preserved in the dragon palace: The largest recension has chapters numerous as the dust motes of thirteen worlds. The medium recension has 498,800 verses. The shortest recension has 100,000 verses in forty-eight chapters. Since now there are only thirty-nine chapters, we know the transmission of the sūtra is not complete.' (Nāgārjuna entered the dragon palace and examined the sūtra. Deeming that the world was incapable of receiving the largest and medium recensions, he recited only the shortest recension to circulate in the world).
