三十六年孔子自衛反魯。然後樂正雅頌各得其所。乃刪詩。定書。繫周易。作春秋。七十子之疇。會集夫子所言。以為論語。

In the thirty-sixth year, Confucius returned from Wei to Lu. Only then was music properly ordered, and the Ya and the Song odes each found their proper place. He then edited the Book of Odes, finalized the Book of Documents, appended the commentaries to the Zhou Changes, and composed the Spring and Autumn Annals. The group of his seventy disciples assembled the Master's sayings to make the Analects.
