咸和元年。西天沙門竺慧理。至錢塘武林山。驚曰。中天竺靈鷲小嶺。何年飛來此地耶。因名天竺山飛來峯。建寺曰靈隱。仙翁葛洪書額（寰宇記。此山名稽宿。以許由隱居于此故。易名靈隱）。

In the first year of the Xianhe era, the monk Zhu Huili from the Western Heavens arrived at Mount Wulin in Qiantang. Startled, he said, 'When did this small peak of Vulture Peak from Central India fly over to this place?' For this reason, it was named Feilai Peak of Mount Tianzhu. He built a monastery named Lingyin. The transcendent elder Ge Hong inscribed the plaque (according to the Huanyu ji, this mountain was named Jisu; because Xu You lived in reclusion here, its name was changed to Lingyin).
