福先寺沙門慧澄。乞依前朝毀老子化胡經。勅秋官侍朗劉如睿八學士議之。皆言。漢隋諸書所載不當除削。
Huicheng, a śramaṇa of the Fuxian Monastery, requested that, following the precedents of previous dynasties, the Laozi huahu jing be destroyed. An imperial order was issued commanding Liu Rurui, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Punishments, and eight academicians to deliberate on it. They all said: 'It is recorded in various books of the Han and Sui, and should not be expunged.'
