○勅潤州於茅山置太平觀。以奉真人王遠知。初遠知母夢靈鳳翔集遂有娠。誌公曰。生子當為神仙宗伯。後師事陶隱居。授三洞法。高祖龍潛。先生密告符命。秦王與房玄齡微服就謁。先生謂之曰。方作太平天子願自保愛。

An imperial order commanded Runzhou to establish the Taiping Abbey on Mount Mao to venerate the perfected man Wang Yuanzhi. Earlier, Yuanzhi's mother dreamt of a spiritual phoenix soaring and alighting, whereupon she became pregnant. Master Baozhi said, 'The child to be born shall be a patriarch of divine immortals.' Later he served Tao Yinju as his teacher and was transmitted the teachings of the Three Caverns. While Gaozu was still in hiding before his accession, the master secretly informed him of the heavenly mandate. The Prince of Qin and Fang Xuanling visited him in plain clothes. The master said to him, 'You are about to become the Son of Heaven of Great Peace; may you take good care of yourself.'
