十一月初武德舊制釋奠於太學。以周公為先聖。孔子為先師陪饗。至是房元齡等建議。請停祭周公。以孔子為先聖。顏子為先師陪饗。詔可。復封孔子後為褒聖侯。

In the eleventh month, under the old regulations of the Wude reign era, the shidian sacrifice was performed at the Imperial Academy, with the Duke of Zhou as the Former Sage and Confucius as the Former Teacher sharing the offerings. At this point, Fang Xuanling and others presented a proposal requesting that the sacrifice to the Duke of Zhou be discontinued, making Confucius the Former Sage and Yanzi the Former Teacher sharing the offerings. The decree granted this. Confucius's descendant was again enfeoffed as the Marquis Exalting the Sage.
