46.28

鑑曰。白雲之徒幾與白蓮相混。特以無妻子為異耳。人見其晨夕持誦躬耕自活。為似可敬。然察其愚癡誕言妄干正道。則識者所當深嫉而力排之也。

The appraisal states: The followers of Baiyun are almost indistinguishable from the White Lotus, differing only in that they do not take wives or children. People see that they chant morning and evening and plow the fields themselves to make a living, thinking they seem respectable. Yet if one examines their foolish and extravagant words, and how they falsely interfere with the correct path, then discerning people should despise them deeply and vigorously reject them.
