四年。方士言。陳留八關寺佛指。乃海狗指耳。有詔取驗。火焚鐵捶十餘日。色不變。勅加禮還之。

In the fourth year, a fangshi said, 'The Buddha's finger-bone relic at Baguan Temple in Chenliu is merely a sea-dog's knuckle.' An edict was issued to test it. It was subjected to burning fire and iron hammers for over ten days, but its color did not change. By imperial decree, additional honors were conferred, and it was returned.
