48.55

元貞元年。大赦。是年詔悅堂誾公至闕。入對稱旨。賜號通慧禪師。并金襴法衣。上天竺湛堂澄法師入覲上京。賜食禁中。以復天台國清為言。宣政院為奏請。降璽書加護。命弘法師主之。辯正宗緒。

In the first year of Yuanzhen, a great amnesty was granted. In that year, an edict summoned the Venerable Yuetang Yin to the palace. His responses in audience matched the imperial will; he was granted the title Chan Master Tonghui along with a gold-embroidered Dharma robe. Dharma Master Zantang Cheng of Upper Tianzhu entered the Superior Capital for an imperial audience and was granted meals in the palace. He spoke of restoring Guoqing Temple on Mount Tiantai; the Bureau of Tibetan and Buddhist Affairs memorialized the request, and an imperial rescript granting protection was issued, ordering Dharma Master Hong to take charge of it and rectify its lineage.
