51.31

隋文帝。勅有毀佛天尊像者大逆不道論○詔諸有佛像碎身遺影所在。官檢送寺莊嚴（時當周武毀法之後）。

Emperor Wen of the Sui decreed that anyone who damaged statues of the Buddha or the Heavenly Worthy would be condemned for great rebellion and impiety. He decreed that wherever there were shattered bodies or remaining images of Buddha statues, officials should inspect and deliver them to monasteries for ornamentation (this was in the aftermath of Emperor Wu of the Northern Zhou's destruction of the Dharma).
