宋神宗元豐六年。詔封孟子鄒國公。七年詔以鄒國公陪享至聖文宣王。位于兗國公之次。苟況楊雄韓愈皆發明先聖之道。以世次從祀於二十二賢之間。

In the sixth year of the Yuanfeng reign of Emperor Shenzong of the Song, an imperial decree enfeoffed Mencius as the Duke of Zou. In the seventh year, an imperial decree ordered that, as the Duke of Zou, he accompany the sacrifices to the Ultimate Sage, King of Literary Manifestation, ranking next to the Duke of Yan. Xun Kuang, Yang Xiong, and Han Yu all elucidated the Way of the Former Sage; according to generational precedence, they were included in the secondary sacrifices among the twenty-two worthies.
