宋文帝。將軍王玄謨將刑。夢人教念十句觀音經。遂得免。北齊武成。孫敬德有罪當死。夢僧教誦經千遍。臨刑刀三折。宋嘉祐龍學梅摯妻失目。夢白衣教誦十句觀音經。雙目復明（此經前後三驗）。

Under Emperor Wen of the Song: General Wang Xuanmo was about to be executed when he dreamed of a person teaching him to recite the *Ten-Phrase Guanyin Sūtra*, and he was thereby spared. Under Emperor Wucheng of the Northern Qi: Sun Jingde committed a crime punishable by death; he dreamed of a monk teaching him to recite the sūtra a thousand times, and as he faced execution, the blade broke three times. In the Jiayou era of the Song, the wife of Academician of the Longtu Hall Mei Zhi lost her sight; she dreamed of a white-robed figure teaching her to recite the *Ten-Phrase Guanyin Sūtra*, and both her eyes recovered sight. (This sūtra has three instances of verification before and after.)
