良渚曰。此三者皆假名佛教以誑愚俗。猶五行之有沴氣也。今摩尼尚扇於三山。而白蓮白雲處處有習之者。大氐不事葷酒。故易於裕足。而不殺物命。故近於為善。愚民無知皆樂趨之。故其黨不勸而自盛。甚至第宅姬妾。為魔女所誘入其眾中。以修懺念佛為名。而實通姦穢。有識士夫宜加禁止。

Liangzhu says: These three all falsely borrow the name of Buddhism to deceive the foolish populace, just as the five elements have noxious pestilence. Nowadays, the Manichaeans are still rampant in Sanshan, while the White Lotus and White Cloud sects have practitioners everywhere. By and large, because they do not consume pungent roots or alcohol, it is easy for them to become prosperous; and because they do not kill living beings, they appear close to doing good. The foolish people, lacking knowledge, all gladly rush to them, so their factions flourish of themselves without encouragement. It has even reached the point where the concubines and maids of noble households are seduced by demonic women into joining their gatherings, under the pretext of cultivating repentance and reciting the Buddha's name, while in reality engaging in illicit and depraved acts. Men of letters with insight ought to prohibit them strictly.
