9.47

禪師法盛。初於玉泉見智者。稟受法要。旦夜不離禪定。後親受觀心論深悟玄旨。智者既往。乃於玉泉大敷教化。唐初入京師每說法。口出光明。四眾戴仰。同於真佛。朝廷尊其道。賜號悟真禪師。

Dhyāna Master Fasheng first met the Master of Wisdom at Yuquan and received the essentials of the Dharma; day and night, he never parted from dhyāna concentration. Later, he personally received the Treatise on Contemplating the Mind and deeply awakened to its profound purport. After the Master of Wisdom passed away, he widely propagated the teaching at Yuquan. In the early Tang, he entered the capital; whenever he preached the Dharma, light came out of his mouth. The fourfold assembly looked up to him in reverence, as if to a true Buddha. The imperial court revered his Way and bestowed upon him the title Dhyāna Master Wuzhen (Awakened to the Real).
