禪師僧珍。師事智者行解深著。初住京師勝光寺。唐武德四年（唐高祖）簡取名勝。住同華兩州。朝廷舉師往住慧日。時唐論是之（佛道論衡）。

Dhyāna Master Sengzhen served the Master of Wisdom as his teacher; his practice and understanding were deeply established. At first, he resided at Shengguang Monastery in the capital. In the fourth year of Wude of the Tang (under Emperor Gaozu of Tang), when prominent figures were selected to reside in the two prefectures of Tong and Hua, the imperial court recommended the master to go and reside at Huiri. Contemporary Tang treatises approved of this (Record of the Debates between Buddhism and Daoism).
