The District Mistress née Cai lived in Wulin. Widowed in her early years, she held sūtras and recited the Buddha's name, bowing to images every morning for over twenty years. Suddenly seeing golden lotus flowers appear in the sky, she hastily asked for her usual daily practice schedule, rolled it up and held it in her bosom, sat peacefully, and passed away.
