In the second year, an image of an arhat appeared on a stone cliff at East Mountain in Yuanzhou. ○ In the fourth month of summer, it did not rain. The prefect of Yuanzhou, Wang Gu, went to pray at the sacred stupa on Mount Muping. A light shone from within the crags, and the Mahāsattva in White Robes appeared with golden necklaces; relics were obtained, five-colored and as large as dates, within which were appearances of terraces and pavilions. He went again to the stupa site at Mount Yang, where he saw the Mahāsattva of Sizhou, Vimalakīrti, and arhats ranged on either side. Soon after, a heavy downpour soaked the earth. The commandery reported this to the court, and an imperial decree bestowed on the Muping stupa the name Huiqing ('Concurring Celebrations') and on the Yangshan stupa the name Ruiqing ('Auspicious Celebrations').
