The commentary says: When the Prince of Yue first entered official service, he ascended Mount Potalaka to have an audience with the Great Being and heard the tall monk's words, promising that he would one day become preceptor and prime minister, and charging him to admonish the sovereign against using military force. Later, Duke Zhang of Wei (Jun) indeed urged Emperor Xiaozong to campaign northward; the Prince of Yue admonished him, but his advice was not followed. When the army suffered defeat at Fuli and Jun returned to see the Emperor, the Emperor welcomed Jun and said, "This undertaking must greatly please Shi Hao." The Great Being foresaw the circumstances of the times, knowing that the momentum of North and South was divided and not yet ready to be united; thus he charged the Duke to raise admonitions to avoid bringing calamity upon the living people.
