In the northern Mongol realm, former meritorious fruits matured and brought forth a king named Genghis. Originally, Genghis ruled from the north over diverse nations like an iron-wheel-turning king. His son was named Ögedei, who was called Qa'an at the time; he inherited the imperial throne and expanded the borders beyond before. He had a son named Güyük, who inherited the imperial throne. The second son of Emperor Genghis was named Tolui. The eldest son of Tolui was named Möngke, who also inherited the throne. His younger brother was named Kublai, who inherited the imperial throne. He subjugated all realms, vastly broadening the borders, took refuge in the Buddhist teachings, and transformed the people in accordance with the Dharma, causing the Buddhist teaching to shine twice as brightly as before. The Emperor had three sons: the eldest was named Jingim, rich and ample like heaven, adorned with the treasures of the Dharma; the second was named Manggala; the third was named Nomuqan; each possessed his innate virtue, and their lineage continued likewise. This spans from the Śākya royal lineage down to the present royal lineage.
