（十五）　釋任道琳者。以學業淹博得近周武。議論二十餘日。酧酢七十番。周武窮極精思不能屈。甞許以復教。會其崩不果。至是道琳伸請尤力。帝從之。

(15) The monk Ren Daolin, because of his profound and broad scholarship, was able to get close to Emperor Wu of Zhou. They debated for more than twenty days in seventy rounds of back-and-forth. Emperor Wu exhausted his finest reasoning and could not refute him. He once promised to restore the religion, but his demise coincided with this, so it did not happen. At this point, Daolin pressed the petition with even greater vigor, and the Emperor complied with it.
