（二十八）　天冊萬歲元年。詔沙彌康法藏於太原寺。開示華嚴宗旨。方緒經題感白光昱然自口而出。須臾成蓋。停空久之。萬眾歡呼嘆異。都講僧恒奏其事。則天悅。有旨命京城十大德為藏授滿分戒。賜號賢首。詔入大遍空寺參譯經。

(28) In the first year of Tiance-wansui, an imperial edict ordered the śrāmaṇera Kang Fazang to elucidate the tenets of the Avataṃsaka at Taiyuan Monastery. Just as he began to introduce the title of the scripture, a bright white light was invoked that shone forth from his mouth; in an instant it formed a canopy and lingered in the sky for a long time. The myriad people cheered and marveled at the wonder. The assembly's lecture monitor Heng memorialized the matter, and Zetian was delighted. An imperial edict commanded the ten great virtues of the capital to bestow full ordination upon Fazang, and granted him the title Xianshou. An edict directed him to enter Dabiankong Monastery to participate in translating the scripture.
