○蜀孟知祥（字寶胤。姓孟氏。荊州龍岡人。祖察秉昭義節旄。父巘磁州刺史。其母王氏。夢日月生于太原。後事唐封為蜀王。明宗崩。祥乃立國號蜀。改年明德。立一年。六月有疾。遂付于昶監國）。

Shu: Meng Zhixiang (courtesy name Baoyin; surnamed Meng; a native of Longgang in Jingzhou. His grandfather Cha held the tally of Zhaoyi. His father Yan was Prefect of Cizhou. His mother, of the Wang clan, dreamt of the sun and moon and gave birth to him in Taiyuan. Later he served the Tang and was enfeoffed as the Prince of Shu. When Mingzong died, Zhixiang founded the state named Shu and changed the era to Mingde. He reigned for one year. In the sixth month he fell ill, and thereupon entrusted Chang to oversee the state).
