(34. Gui-si [1113]) In the fourth month, the wind broke a large tree in Jiazhou. There was a monk inside in samādhi. The authorities reported it to the throne, and an edict ordered him to be sent to the capital. In the eighth month, he entered the Imperial Translation Bureau. Tripiṭaka Master Jin Zongchi struck a golden chime to bring the monk out of samādhi. The monk said, "I am Huichi, the younger brother of Master Yuan of Donglin. I traveled west to Mount Emei and consequently entered samādhi here." Tripiṭaka Master slowly inquired, "Where do you wish to return now?" He said, "Chenliu." He then re-entered samādhi. Emperor Huizong ordered a portrait painted and distributed throughout the realm, and also composed a eulogy.
