伊川曰。或謂佛之道是也。其迹非也。然吾攻其迹耳。其道吾不知也。使其不合於先王。顧不願學也。如其合於先王。則求之六經足矣。奚必佛。

Yichuan said: "Some say that the Buddha's Way is correct, but his visible traces are wrong. However, I only attack his visible traces; his Way I do not know. If it does not conform to the ancient kings, I naturally have no wish to study it. If it conforms to the ancient kings, then seeking it in the Six Classics is sufficient; why must there be the Buddha?"
