龜山曰。聖人以為尋常事者。莊周則夸言之。乃禪家呵佛罵祖之類。如逍遙遊。乃子思之所謂無入而不自得。養生主。乃孟子所謂行其所無事而已。曲譬廣喻。此張大其說耳。

Guishan said: "What the Sage regarded as ordinary affairs, Zhuang Zhou spoke of with exaggeration; it is of the same kind as the Chan masters scolding the Buddha and reviling the patriarchs. For instance, the 'Carefree Excursion' is just what Zisi meant by 'there is no situation into which he enters where he does not feel at ease with himself'; 'The Master for Nourishing Life' is just what Mencius meant by 'acting with non-contrivance.' Through winding parables and extensive metaphors, he merely magnified their teachings."
