帝取食前珍味。碎置鉢中。內外侍從數滿千人。各賜一粒。普令得沾如來鉢中之禪悅。
The Emperor took the delicacies set before his meal and broke them into pieces inside the bowl. For his inner and outer attendants, numbering fully a thousand people, he granted one morsel each, broadly enabling all to partake of the dhyāna-joy in the Tathāgata's bowl.
