阿合麻丞相奏。天下僧尼頗多混濫。精通佛法可允為僧。無知無聞宜令例俗。膽巴師父奏云。多人祝壽好。多人生怒好。

Grand Councillor Ahmad memorialized: 'Among the monks and nuns throughout the realm, many are disorderly and corrupt. Only those thoroughly versed in the Buddhadharma should be permitted to be monastics; those ignorant and unlearned should be returned to secular status.' The Master and Teacher Dampa memorialized, saying: 'Is it better for many people to pray for your longevity, or for many people to harbor anger?'
