9.80

承聖元年。三藏真諦將歸天竺。至廣州。刺史歐陽頠延之。制止寺沙門東愷等請譯起信俱舍等論。諦有氣宇風神爽邁。頠之子紇居別墅。在河渚間。諦每訪紇。以坐具敷水面跏趺其上飄然往還。坐具略不霑潤。或不敷具。即折荷葉而濟。時好事多圖畫而奉祀之。

In the first year of Chengsheng, the Tripiṭaka Master Paramārtha was about to return to Tianzhu. Arriving in Guangzhou, the Regional Inspector Ouyang Wei welcomed him. Śramaṇa Dongkai and others of Zhizhi Monastery requested him to translate treatises such as the Awakening of Faith and the Abhidharmakośa. Or without spreading his cloth, he would pluck a lotus leaf to cross. At that time, many enthusiasts painted his likeness and made offerings to it.
